Filling Out A SCOPES

In our Healthy Relationships course, students learn strategies to maintain a healthy relationship in various environments. One of the activities they participate in is SCOPES. The term SCOPES is an acronym for Scene, Conflict, Options, Perspective, Emotions and Solution.

Students were given a social situation and asked to find the best solution to the given problem by working in groups, allowing for other people’s perspectives to be taken into account.

One of the students, Harmony, noted that she’s gained new perspective on how others think and what the world is actually like. “It’s helped me to learn about how you can improve yourself with friendship and relationships,” she says.

Another important area of this class is learning to handle unexpected behaviors, and how people should react when dealing with social situations that make us uncomfortable.

Healthy Relationships is one of the many courses OLS Students can take to obtain their associate degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program, register for an Information Session.
