As part of the Fall Quarter News & Daily Living course, students are assigned to write a news article on a topic of their choice that has to do with the OLS program. We will be sharing their articles on our news page as OLS Student Reporters stories.
Learning Lab and What It Can Do for You
By Miguel McCoy
Some students at OLS feel a little overwhelmed or stressed about some things in their life. They will often need some help during their time here at Bellevue College. There is always a helping hand if someone is willing to take it, and it’s right over at learning lab.
Learning Lab is an event that takes place in one or two separate rooms on the second floor of the Bellevue college north campus. From there Cyndie-Lea, as well as other instructors lead by her, are willing to spend their time offering students their support. Whether it is studying, working with groups on group projects, or just homework assignments in general. Cyndie-Lea states, “I believe everybody can benefit from Learning Lab when it fits into their schedule.” The event happens regularly on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 11 AM, but it can go on longer for some students if they need extra time.
The main point of Learning Lab is to help students with getting their work done. Whether the students need some encouragement or a couple of little hints, the instructors are always willing to give them some assistance if needed. Learning Lab is a place where people can improve upon their selves while still in college.
