Campus Scavenger Hunt

This quarter our Learning Strategies in the College Environment courses teamed up for an office scavenger hunt on the Bellevue College campus. Upon arrival, students were paired with a partner and given two locations on main campus to visit. Some of these locations included places like the Center for Career Connections, the Disability Resource Center, the Counseling Center, and the Computer Lab. After finding their locations, students took pictures of themselves or their group members outside of the location.

Students jotted down important information about the locations including their hours of operation, the services the provide, and how to access these resources. Throughout the process, students were encouraged to ask appropriate Bellevue College staff for help if needed. Lastly, students traveled to the Bellevue College library, emailed instructors their pictures, and submitted their questions on Canvas.

Students gained many things from this activity including the applied practice of several OLS performance indicators including communication, collaboration, and professionalism, skills that are needed for work and life. Student Nia said, “I learned so much about main campus clubs that I didn’t even know about, and I had a whole conversation with one of the Bellevue College staff, and it was very interesting, and I had so much fun and learning so much. It was a great experience.”

Learning Strategies in the College Environment is one of the many courses OLS Students take to obtain their associate degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program register for an Information Session.
