Group Work on Social Behavior Maps

Even though classes are being conducted online, OLS group work continues!

Using Microsoft Teams, instructors can assign students a group and through the same platform students are able to work together virtually, allowing students to share their work and projects with one another.

In our Healthy Relationships course, students work on learning expected and unexpected behaviors to gain perspective when facing situations where they are unsure of what the correct behavioral response should be. Students work in groups to help identify expected and unexpected behaviors and how it makes other feel, otherwise known as Social Behavior Mapping.

Social Behavior mapping allows students to see other people perspective on a situation. It also allows them to see how others would react and what emotions they are feeling. The activity allows students to gain social understanding of how others view situations and allows for multiple perspective to be gained. Students are able to see they may not have all the answers to all social situations, and when they are not sure how to act or what to say, they can call upon others for help without judgement.

Healthy Relationships is one of the many courses OLS Students take to obtain their associate degree from OLS. More information about our curriculum is available on our website. To learn more about our program register for an upcoming Information Session.
