Second-year students in the Occupational & Life Skills Bellevue College (OLSBC) program were tasked with a research project in their Disability Awareness course.
Famous Person Research Project
Students researched a famous person with a disability similar to their own disability.
Classroom presentations included students talking about their disability and comparing the experiences of the famous person they chose to their own, as well as explaining how disability rights have impacted their life.
Student Presentation Examples
Students Mak and Brian were kind enough to let us share their presentations with you. Click on the images below to see their presentations.
About the OLSBC Disability Awareness Course
Disability Awareness is taken in the second year of the OLSBC program and is one of the many courses students take to earn their associate degree. In this course, students gain awareness of different types of disabilities within the community, reflect upon their disability and when and how to disclose this information.
