OLS is following Bellevue College guidelines for our return to campus this fall. Information on this page may change as new guidelines or requirements are set, so please check back often for the latest updates. These updates will be sent to all current OLS students at their Bellevue College emails.
Bellevue College has determined that the safest and most prudent option for our students, faculty, and staff is to be a
college that requires vaccination beginning Fall Quarter. This brings the college in line with current guidance from county, state, and national health officials. All the other community/technical colleges in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties are requiring vaccinations as are most, if not all, of the four-year institutions in the region.
In brief, all faculty, staff, and students will be required to submit either a self-attestation, indicating the dates they
received their vaccinations, or an exemption request. According to Governor Inslee’s guidance, individuals are
considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving all recommended vaccine doses authorized for emergency use by the FDA or World Health Organization.
As long as there are no sudden changes made by the state, college, or beyond, OLS classes will be held 100%
in-person on BC’s Main Campus for Fall Quarter, following the current campus guidelines.
OLS will be providing students the option to attend either 100% in-person or 100% online this fall. If you are a current OLS student, please let us know how you plan to return this fall: Fall 2021 Survey.
Students who choose to return to campus must be fully vaccinated by the first day of Fall Quarter (September 27).
- The last day to get your final vaccine dose before the start of Fall Quarter is September 13.
- If you are not fully vaccinated by September 27, you will attend your classes online for Fall Quarter.
At this time, we fully expect Winter and Spring Quarters to be 100% in-person. Updates regarding futures quarters will be sent as we get closer to the start of winter quarter.
The Bellevue College Flu Team is currently drafting detailed protocol to meet state requirements. In the next few weeks, we will provide more information on vaccine attestations, exemption documentation, due dates, and
additional information that everyone in the Bellevue College community will want to know.
All campus requirements and guidelines can change at any moment.
Please check your Bellevue College email regularly to ensure you are up to date with the latest guidance.
- Increased instructor/staff support to help guide students throughout the quarter.
- Online Learning Lab for help with assignments
- Student Success Coaches available for 1:1 on-campus appointments for additional support.
- Use of technology to ensure online students participate fully in classroom activities.
- Extended orientation to provide tutorials and ‘how-to’ instruction prior to the quarter beginning.
