This fall, the Occupational & Life Skills Bellevue College (OLSBC) Exercise for Fitness class met to walk to Robinswood Park in Bellevue for their Community Activity. This park is unique because you can walk around the greenspace, take in the fall colors and visit the ducks at the pond. It also has an area in the back southeast corner that opens out to beautiful evergreen trees and forested short hiking trails.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

OLSBC students had a wonderful time exploring the park and getting their fitness on. Learning to exercise in nature – especially in the rain – was a rewarding experience for everyone!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

About the OLSBC Exercise for Fitness Course<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

In this course, students design a personalized fitness program to enhance cardiovascular health, muscle tone, and overall fitness, with the majority of the activities taking place outdoors. they maintain exercise journals that not only document their individual workout plans but also incorporate aspects of both physical and emotional well-being. The course also explores how exercise can help to improve self-regulation, mental health and executive functioning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
