On November 13, students, faculty, and staff from the Occupational & Life Skills Bellevue College (OLSBC) program gathered on the Bellevue College campus for their Fall Quarter Service Learning Project. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

This quarter, OLSBC worked with Birthday Dreams<\/a>, an organization that provides birthday parties to underprivileged children throughout King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. According to Birthday Dream, “[t]hese parties include everything- gifts, cake, tableware, party hats, goodie bags, balloons, juice, and games,” and they partner with over 80 shelters in area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The OLSBC program helped bring these parties to life by creating birthday hats and “pin-the-candle on the cupcake” games. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Service Learning is an important part of the OLSBC curriculum. We’ve partnered with several organizations over the years for these projects, such as Seattle Children’s Hospital, Birthday Dreams, Tavon Center, and Full Life Care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
