By keeping themselves clean it helps prevent illness and infection from bacteria or viruses.&nbsp;One example, the simple act of washing your hands regularly is an effective way to keep germs from spreading.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2020\/01\/Nutrition3-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"a young woman and a young man pose with a collage of magazine photos\" class=\"wp-image-11835\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>The following is a sample list that the students complied to help them remember&nbsp;how to maintain personal hygiene in the workplace:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep hair clean \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regularly wash and cut your hair to keep a neat appearance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Care for your dental health. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining a healthy, clean mouth is part of maintaining personal hygiene at work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bathe or shower regularly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use deodorant daily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your hands clean<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean shaven\/trimmed beard<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What About Appearance in the Workplace?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Students learned that dressing&nbsp;in proper business attire is&nbsp;important&nbsp;for every employee because it presents a visual image and sends a message that the employees are professional. They understand that dress codes vary depending on the job site.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/219\/2020\/01\/Drew_Edward_collage-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"two young men pose with a collage of magazine photos\" class=\"wp-image-11832\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of Good Grooming<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They feel extra confident about themselves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They radiate a sense of self-esteem<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They can make lasting impressions quickly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are more likely to draw positive attention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Students created collages by utilizing knowledge gained through class handouts, video clips and research.&nbsp; They worked in teams to find multiple&nbsp;images&nbsp;that\u202foutline the types of features that show a person has taken care of their body and demonstrated professionalism through the way they look at work.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>During group sharing with peers- the teams described all the areas of the body that need to be considered when trying to look professional at&nbsp;work&nbsp;(management\/business casual\/required uniform, etc.).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>OLS students are ready to invest in themselves by&nbsp;creating an overall positive impression of themselves.&nbsp;This is a very valuable skill to have as they prepare to enter the workforce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>Nutrition, Health, &amp; Fitness is one of the many courses OLS Students can take to obtain their associate degree from OLS.
