Policy
The board of trustees of Bellevue College desires to maximize the use of college facilities for the benefit of the public interest and, at the same time, desires to develop and maintain compatible relationships with contiguous residential communities. Therefore the board has directed the president or his/her designee to inform neighbors in residential communities of any major activity concerning construction or other changes to college property, etc.
Neighborhood meetings may be called either by the college or by residents of neighboring communities as needed to clarify mutual concerns. Such meetings shall be scheduled by mutual agreement. Written notice shall be distributed to residents in neighboring communities at least five days before such a meeting is held. The neighbors in attendance at these meetings shall be construed as a quorum and, to the extent possible, shall function as a plebiscite for the residential communities. Reports summarizing these meetings shall be distributed to the board and shall be available to the community upon request via the administrative services office.
