All current and former students can access their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/records-grades\/view-unofficial-transcript\/\">unofficial transcript<\/a> online using their student ID number. Student Central can assist students in accessing their unofficial transcripts but does not provide students with a copy of\u00a0unofficial transcripts.<\/p>\n<p>The college allows use of unofficial transcripts from other colleges for\u00a0academic advising, and for math and English placement decisions. Use of unofficial transcripts may vary by department, and students should check with the department they are working with to determine if\u00a0submission\u00a0of an unofficial transcript is permitted.<\/p>\n<h3>Official Transcripts<\/h3>\n<p>Official transcripts represent a student\u2019s permanent academic record and are kept by the college indefinitely. Only a student may ask for an official copy of their transcript, or direct where the transcript is sent. The college charges a fee for each copy of an official transcript.\u00a0Check the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/records-grades\/transcript-request\/\">Official\u00a0Transcript Request<\/a>\u00a0web page for information related to the cost of an official transcript.<\/p>\n<p>Current and former students may ask for a copy of an official transcript or ask that a transcript be sent to another school, person, or agency in the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Order the transcript online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\">The college partners with an outside agency to provide an online service for ordering and sending official transcripts.<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Requests submitted online are typically processed within 2 \u2013 3 business days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Mail a written request to the Bellevue College enrollment services department, or submit a written request in person at the U Building information desk.\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/records-grades\/transcript-request\/\">Official Transcript Request<\/a>\u00a0web page for information needed to request a transcript.<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Requests submitted by mail or in-person are typically processed within 3 \u2013 4 business days after receiving the request.\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"9\" data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Payment by check or money order must be included with the request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whenever possible, the college transmits official transcripts\u00a0electronically.<\/p>\n<h2>Definitions<\/h2>\n<p>Unofficial Transcript:\u00a0An unofficial transcript does not include the signature of a college official or the college seal (or its equivalent) of the issuing institution. It is generally out of the control of the college and can be copied, modified, or reproduced by the student and others.<\/p>\n<p>Official Transcript:\u00a0An official transcript is an original document generated and sent by the issuing school in a sealed envelope. It includes the signature of a college official and the college seal or is printed on secure transcript paper.
