{"id":193,"date":"2014-05-30T10:27:01","date_gmt":"2014-05-30T17:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/?page_id=193"},"modified":"2024-08-20T10:02:07","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T17:02:07","slug":"id-2200p","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-2200p\/","title":{"rendered":"2200P Admission Rules (Procedures)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Original Date: 4\/18\/1973 * Last Revision Effective: 11\/23\/2021<br \/>\nPolicy Contact: Associate Vice President, Student Affairs<\/p>\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n<p>The following procedures are established to meet the requirements for implementing policy <a title=\"2200 Admission Rules\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-2200\/\">#2200 \u2013 Admission Rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Procedures<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>General\u00a0College\u00a0Admission\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0general admission application\u00a0creates\u00a0a record for each student admitted to the college and\u00a0determines Washington\u00a0State residency\u00a0for\u00a0the purpose of\u00a0establishing\u00a0tuition and fees,\u00a0in accordance with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.leg.wa.gov\/WAC\/default.aspx?cite=250-18\">WAC\u00a0250-18<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All prospective students who plan to take credit classes are required to complete the online general\u00a0college\u00a0admission application by the deadline posted on the academic\u00a0calendar and\u00a0pay\u00a0any published fees. Former students who previously completed the general admission\u00a0application and had\u00a0their\u00a0residency status\u00a0established\u00a0are not required to complete the application a second time.\u00a0The link to the\u00a0general\u00a0admission application can be\u00a0found on\u00a0the\u00a0admissions webpage. Applications are processed in the order submitted.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Selective Admission Programs\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Prospective students who plan to participate in a selective or competitive\u00a0academic\u00a0program must\u00a0first\u00a0complete the online general\u00a0college\u00a0admission application and pay\u00a0any published fees.\u00a0Selective\u00a0academic programs have a\u00a0separate\u00a0program\u00a0admission\u00a0process\u00a0that\u00a0applicants must complete prior to registering for classes;\u00a0applicants\u00a0are\u00a0also\u00a0required to pay\u00a0a program\u00a0admission fee. Applicants should review the\u00a0academic\u00a0programs\u2019 webpage\u00a0for\u00a0program requirements\u00a0and the admission process<\/p>\n<h3><strong>International Education\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Prospective international students\u00a0do not complete the general college admission application. Applicants must follow the process\u00a0established by the\u00a0BC\u00a0Office of International Education\u00a0to gain admission to the college and register for classes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Underage Admission<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>High\u00a0School Student Enrollment Options Programs<\/h4>\n<p>Programs targeted to underage populations, also referred to as high school student enrollment options programs, such as Running Start, CEO (Career Education Options),\u00a0College in the High School, Pacific NW College Credit,\u00a0and programs associated with\u00a0basic and\u00a0transitional\u00a0studies (BATS), or a successor program, may allow\u00a0program\u00a0admission to applicants under the age of 18. Applicants in these programs are required to\u00a0complete the\u00a0general\u00a0college\u00a0admission application. Each program\u00a0may\u00a0establish requirements and processes that all applicants must follow\u00a0prior to registering for classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Underage High School\u00a0Applicants\u00a0Not\u00a0Participating in\u00a0a H.S. Student Enrollment Option Program<\/h4>\n<p>The college admits\u00a0other\u00a0applicants\u00a0under the age of 18 who\u00a0meet one of the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"32\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Are at least 16 years of age, or have completed their sophomore (10th\u00a0grade) year in high school, or<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"32\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Have started their freshman (9th\u00a0grade) year in high school and can demonstrate exceptional or extenuating circumstances that warrant early admission to the college.
