{"id":388,"date":"2014-06-02T14:22:47","date_gmt":"2014-06-02T21:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/?page_id=388"},"modified":"2015-04-07T08:13:47","modified_gmt":"2015-04-07T15:13:47","slug":"id-3450p","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-3450p\/","title":{"rendered":"3450P Setting Classroom Behavioral Standards (Procedures)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Original Date: 4\/20\/1987 * Last Revision Effective:\u00a04\/7\/2015<br \/>\nPolicy Contact: Vice President, Student Affairs<\/p>\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n<p>The following procedures are established to meet the requirements for implementing policy <a title=\"3450 Setting Classroom Behavioral Standards\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-3450\/\">#3450 \u2013 Setting Classroom Behavioral Standards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Procedures<\/h2>\n<h3>Instructor\u2019s Syllabus or Instructional Program Handbook<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Student behavior including cheating, stealing, and plagiarizing should be clearly defined in every syllabus or in a program student handbook provided to the students.<\/li>\n<li>The syllabus should clearly state what action will be taken by the instructor if the student is found to violate the student code by cheating, stealing, or plagiarizing.<\/li>\n<li>The syllabus or program handbook should clearly state what due process and procedures a student can follow if he or she wishes to contest the instructor\u2019s action.<\/li>\n<li>The syllabus or program handbook should clearly state that all forms of behavior violations will be reported to the vice president of student affairs. The instructor should tell the student if he or she is recommending that the vice president of student\u00a0affairs take further action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Vice President of Student Affairs<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The vice president of student\u00a0affairs is to keep a record of all reported cases of student violations including cheating, stealing, and plagiarizing.<\/li>\n<li>If the instructor has recommended that further action be taken by the vice president of student affairs, the vice president will notify the instructor of any action taken.<\/li>\n<li>For each repeated offense reported to the vice president of student\u00a0affairs for a given student, the action taken by the vice president should increase in severity. However, there is a need to consider the seriousness of the particular act.
