The\u202finitial\u202fresponsibility to\u202fdisclose\u202fis the obligation of the employee who holds\u00a0an academic, professional, or other authority over the other person in the consensual relationship. HR will assess the situation to\u202fdetermine\u202fnext\u202fsteps.<\/p>\n<p>The college will take necessary steps to address and remove any potential or perceived conflict of interest, including\u202fconsideration\u202fof\u202fand\u202fpossible\u202fimplementation\u202fof\u202fa written management plan.\u202fA\u202fwritten management plan is intended to remove any supervisory, teaching, evaluation, advising, coaching, or counseling responsibilities between the parties previously or currently involved in a romantic and\/or sexual relationship. Management plans should, to the extent possible, avoid negative impacts on the student\/subordinate.\u202fAdjustments are not guaranteed, and alternatives may not be available.<\/p>\n<p>The written plan must address the actual or potential conflicts of interest, power imbalances, and other\u202fissues\u202fthat may arise. A management plan may be declined\u202fby the College\u202for\u202fdiscontinued\u202fat any time it is\u202fdetermined\u202fthat the relationship cannot be managed without harm\/negative impact to individuals or the functioning of the College. If the management plan is declined or\u202fdiscontinued, the employee must refrain from\u202fparticipating\u202fin the relationship.
