The following timeline outlines the major milestones of the presidential search.
July 2021
The Board of Trustees requested campus leadership embark on the BC Priorities Project to identify the priorities and values that will guide Bellevue College through the next 3-5 years to inform the development of materials and criteria to identify the best presidential candidates to continue moving Bellevue College forward.
June 2022
The final “BC Priorities Report” was presented to the Board of Trustees.
October 2022
The Board of Trustees announced the draft timeline of the presidential search and how the “BC Priorities Report” informed the Presidential Search Profile.
EQU Advisors was selected as the executive search firm to assist Bellevue College in the presidential search process.
November 2022
EQU Advisors facilitated open forums and a written survey to solicit input from the Bellevue College community on the presidential search.
The Board of Trustees announced the members of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee.
December 2022
The search went live. The Presidential Search Profile was posted on the Bellevue College and EQU Advisors websites. Local, state-wide, and national recruitment and national advertising began.
February 3, 2023
Target date for applications (open until filled).
February 2023
Presidential Search Advisory Committee conducted confidential virtual interviews with semi-finalists. Committee deliberated and provided a recommendation of 3-4 finalists to the Board of Trustees.
March 2023
Finalists were invited for 2-day on-campus interviews with internal and external stakeholders. After finalist interviews, stakeholder feedback was collected and reviewed by the Board of Trustees.
March 28, 2023
Board of Trustees appointed Dr. David May as the next President of Bellevue College.
July 2023
Target start date of new President.
