BAS in Information Systems and Technology Business Intelligence Concentration

The Business Intelligence concentration prepares graduates for roles in data management and data analysis. The concentration includes relational database design and implementation, data interchange technologies, design and implementation of data warehousing, and skills in predictive analytics, reporting and performance management. Graduates who choose this concentration will be prepared for jobs as database developers, business intelligence developers, data analysts/report writers, and electronic data interchange (EDI) specialists.

Requirements

Prerequisites Requirements – All Students

Associate degree in IT or CS-related field or equivalent credits that represent the combination of program admission required courses and other transferable college-level credits.
Must have two English courses and at least 20 credits of general education courses from the following list of General Education requirements:

English Composition (5 Cr)
The Research Paper (5 Cr) or Technical Writing (5 Cr)
College Level Math (5 Cr)

Social Science course from the AAS-DTA transfer list (5 Cr)

(Students selecting the Application Development or BI concentration do not need a social science prerequisite)

Humanities course from the AAS-DTA transfer list (5 Cr)
Natural Science (5-6 Cr)

(Ten credits in Natural Science from AAS-DTA list required for BAS Information Systems and Technology graduation. Students must choose from two different subject areas. At least five credits must be in physical, biological and/or Earth sciences. Shall includes at least one laboratory course)
