This support is provided by observing, reporting, and providing guidance and direction to others within the impacted area as assigned by Public Safety Emergency Management.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Role responsibilities&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attend monthly Safety Lead meetings on the third Thursday of each month&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete required trainings&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in quarterly drills and exercises conducted during the regular work week and time frame&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain familiarity with the location of the following for assigned floor: fire alarms, heat\/smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, evacuation routes, areas of refuge, first aid stations, AED device, and emergency shower &amp; eye wash stations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have an awareness of the outside emergency evacuation zone\/location, disability waiting area, and the blue crisis response boxes&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow activation protocols: Activation will occur when an alarm has been activated; an official campus notification has been sent through BC Alerts directing an evacuation or lockdown; and a when receiving direction from the Incident Commander via text message, phone call, or a Public Safety issued radio&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain and store assigned Safety Lead equipment\/Emergency Response backpack&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When encountering an emergency incident check in with Public Safety&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide direction and guidance to students and employees if an area evacuation or lockdown is required&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a courteous and direct communication style&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow evacuation protocols for each type of emergency as directed by Public Safety Emergency Management&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and know the location of the Emergency Evacuation Zone for your building&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain communication with Public Safety Emergency Management throughout the emergency event by providing report updates, as requested&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing prompt action to direction given by Public Safety Emergency Management based on report updates&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in after event debriefings and meetings&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-collapse card bg-secondary text-bg-secondary\n\t\t text-white\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading_7fd07ecc-bf31-4d62-8108-ad458ebfff86\"><h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn collapsed text-white\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse_7fd07ecc-bf31-4d62-8108-ad458ebfff86\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse_7fd07ecc-bf31-4d62-8108-ad458ebfff86\">Safety Lead Requirements and General Conditions<\/button><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"collapse_7fd07ecc-bf31-4d62-8108-ad458ebfff86\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading_7fd07ecc-bf31-4d62-8108-ad458ebfff86\" data-parent=\"#accordion_021a9270-647b-451b-95e1-ddedcefba0f7\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion_021a9270-647b-451b-95e1-ddedcefba0f7\"><div class=\"card-body bg-light text-dark\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Voluntary willingness to take on this responsibility&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervisor\u2019s approval to participate in this role&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist all members of the Bellevue College Campus without bias&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capability to remain calm, focused, and provide clear direction to others during high stress situations&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to follow and disseminate instructions provided through an Incident Command Structure (Chain of Command)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide assistance that may involve walking up and down stairs; lift more than 25 lbs and stand for extended periods of time&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learning and development<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete First Aid\/CPR\/AED\/Narcan Certification (within the first month of starting in this role) (the Emergency Operations Manager will schedule group trainings)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete FEMA online Training: ICS 100 (Introduction to the Incident Command System) &amp;
