The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) course, designed and built on the Avoid \u2013 Deny \u2013 Defend strategy developed by ALERRT at Texas State University in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter\/active aggressor event or other critical incident.\u202f Topics include the nature and prevalence of active shooter and active aggressor events; civilian response options of Avoid \u2013 Deny – Defend; the stages of human disaster response, and how to improve your response in order to influence survivability; and the role of first responders at a critical incident like an active shooter or active aggressor.\u202f\u202f\u202fSubmit the online request for CRASE trained representatives from Public Safety to lead this course in your department. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
