It is the student\u2019s responsibility to obtain information or assignments that are missed due to absence. The student must notify each instructor and\/or clinical supervisor of an absence. It is the instructor\u2019s prerogative to determine whether or not an examination can be \u201cmade up\u201d due to an absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more specific information on attendance for clinical courses see section titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/radon\/admitted-students\/policy-procedure\/clinical-policies-and-procedures\/#H11\">Attendance for Clinical Practice Courses<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Punctuality<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Punctuality is a valued professional behavior and an expectation in the Radiation Therapy Program. It is expected that students will arrive on time and participate in classroom discussions. Chronic lateness disrupts the flow of the classroom and is disrespectful to classmates. Your instructor, reserves the right to not allow you to enter the classroom due to chronic lateness. This applies to all scheduled class times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Exams and Proctoring<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Integrity of exam taking is ensured through proctoring, oral exam or other methods deemed appropriate by course instructor. Course exams will be proctored by an instructor or official proctor during the exam including hybrid and online courses. Online exams taken by the students will utilize college\/program\u2019s electronic devices in a proctored setting. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled exam, the student is responsible for notifying the instructor and proctor. Make up exams are at the discretion of the instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"H3\"><\/a>Academic Probation and Dismissal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>(For All Radon Courses)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Probation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Probation will be initiated when a student receives a grade of \u201cC-\u201cor below in any Radiation Therapy course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student must take steps, with the program chair\u2019s\/instructor\u2019s guidance, to rectify his\/her performance so than an acceptable grade (\u201cC\u201c) or better is achieved in that course during the quarter in which probation was initiated.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Program chair may modify the time allowed for improving the course grade as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any grade of \u201cC-\u201cor less that is not improved to at least a \u201cC\u201d by the end of&nbsp;the quarter (allotted time) can result in the dismissal of the student from the Radiation Therapy program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Dismissal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A student earning a second grade of \u201cC-\u201c or less in any required course can be dismissed from the program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A student earning an \u201cF\u201d in a Radiation Therapy Program course will be dismissed from the program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit;font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size: 1.2em;line-height: 1.389em\">Disciplinary Policies<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is expected that a student will behave in an ethical and professional manner while on the BC campus or in the clinical educational setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Violation of either the BC Student Code of Conduct <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-2050\/\">http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-2050\/<\/a> or the Program policies for behavior in the clinical setting (found under Clinical Policies and Procedures section &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/radon\/admitted-students\/policy-procedure\/clinical-policies-and-procedures\/#H14\">Behavior in the Clinic Area for Students and Therapists<\/a>) will be subject to disciplinary action, and all cases will be referred to the BC Manager of Student Conduct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any student shall be subject to disciplinary action due to violation of the Student or Program Code of Conduct, who is a principle actor, aide, abettor or accomplice as defined in RCW 08.020.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is the student\u2019s responsibility to be knowledgeable of both the BC and program policies regarding conduct.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"H4\"><\/a>General Complaint Resolution Procedures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grades<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We request that problems concerning the didactic portion of&nbsp;&nbsp;the program first be discussed with the course instructor.&nbsp; If the student is not satisfied with the instructor\u2019s decision then the student is asked to discuss the issue with the Program Chair<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The student has the right to utilize Bellevue College&#8217;s General Complain Resolution Procedure. Please refer to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/id-1450\/\">Bellevue College Policies and Procedures &#8211; 1450 General Complaint Resolution<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/policies\/3000p\/\">Bellevue College Policies and Procedures &#8211; 3000P Grade Dispute (Procedures)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Behavior<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Student problems in the clinical education settings should be addressed as soon as possible. We request that the student first discuss the matter with the clinical supervisor. If this does not resolve the problem, it should be taken to the clinical coordinator and then to the program chair. The student has the right to utilize Bellevue College&#8217;s Grievance Procedure. Please see link above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"H5\"><\/a>Graduation and Certification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graduation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The students are encouraged to read the Bellevue College requirements for graduation by following this link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/graduation\/apply\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/current-students\/apply-graduation\/\">Graduation &#8211; Bellevue College<\/a><\/a>. Follow the directions for completing a Professional Technical Associates Degree. Each student must file an application for graduation two quarters prior to the quarter in which the student plans to graduate.\u00a0 <strong>Graduation is the student&#8217;s responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ARRT Certification Examination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates of the Radiation Therapy Program are eligible to apply for the National Certification examination in Radiation Therapy Technology given by the ARRT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the student\u2019s responsibility to check the ARRT website for information regarding the ARRT exam. We encourage you to start this process in January of the year you will graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arrt.org\/pages\/earn-arrt-credentials\/credential-options\/radiation-therapy\">ARRT Certification\/Registration in Radiation Therapy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-alert alert alert-info\">\n<p>Please note: Our program meets criteria for national certification, some states do have additional requirements beyond the national standard. It is the student\u2019s responsibility to be knowledgeable in meeting criteria for states other than the state of Washington.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington State requires state certification to work.&nbsp; It is the responsibility of the student to obtain the appropriate credentials. See your employer for the appropriate forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who anticipate working outside of the United States should keep copies of course objectives and clinical treatment logs which are available through Trajecsys.
