Go to the&nbsp;<strong>Guiding Questions&nbsp;below<\/strong> for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I have\u2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contacted RISE to build connections with&nbsp;<strong>community partners<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contacted RISE about utilizing the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bellevuecollege.galaxydigital.com\/\">BC in the Community<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;portal for my class.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talked with RISE about waivers or&nbsp;<strong>risk management processes<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"mailto:rise@bellevuecollege.edu\">Informed RISE about my&nbsp;<strong>upcoming course<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;so they can&nbsp;post it on the website.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Included a written explanation of the What and Why of CECE in my&nbsp;<strong>syllabus<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensured that it\u2019s clear how the CECE component\u00a0<strong>connects\u00a0<\/strong>to course outcomes, grading, and real-world contexts.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Built 2\u00a0<strong>reflections\u00a0<\/strong>into the course (tips in the Transcript Notation Faculty Guide).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planned for\u00a0<strong>partner check-ins<\/strong>\u00a0both in the middle and at the end of the quarter.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Considered submitting my course for the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/faculty\/transcript-notation-service\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"341\">Transcript Notation for Service-Learning<\/a><\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Considered ending the quarter with participation in&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/students\/making-learning-visible\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"308\">Making Learning Visible<\/a><\/strong>, the student learning showcase.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Considered inviting RISE to conduct an&nbsp;<strong>orientation&nbsp;<\/strong>or other&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/the-community\/cece-bc\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"951\"><strong>guest presentation<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;on community or civic issues.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thought about how to\u00a0<strong>capture data<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 number of participating students, approximate number of hours, and names of partners \u2013 for RISE.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: Added the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bc.instructure.com\/courses\/1839239\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bc.instructure.com\/courses\/1839239\"><strong>Pre-Survey<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Post-Survey<\/strong>\u00a0(modules or links) to my course page on Canvas<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<hr class=\"section-divider\" \/>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"guidingquestions\">Guiding Questions for a Meaningful CECE Course<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<p>These simple questions provide the backbone for any quality, robust, and meaningful community-engaged learning opportunity. Consider these carefully and\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rise@bellevuecollege.edu\"><strong>reach out to RISE<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to discuss these in greater detail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper alignstandard\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is the CECE component&nbsp;<strong>integrated&nbsp;<\/strong>into the course? Is it part of&nbsp;<strong>grading<\/strong>? Does it help students meet at least one&nbsp;<strong>course outcome<\/strong>?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does the CECE component help students see the&nbsp;<strong>real-world applications and\/or contexts<\/strong>&nbsp;for course content?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does this CECE component connect course content to&nbsp;<strong>social, environmental, or civic issues<\/strong>? Does it help make&nbsp;<strong>social justice<\/strong>&nbsp;issues real for students?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does my course ask students to&nbsp;<strong>reflect&nbsp;<\/strong>on their CECE experience in regular, challenging, varied, and connect ways?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do I think about&nbsp;<strong>equity&nbsp;<\/strong>while developing your course? Does&nbsp;<strong>Universal Design for Learning<\/strong>&nbsp;fit into my course design? Do I ensure that&nbsp;<strong>all&nbsp;<\/strong>students have the ability to gain from the experience? Do I have an&nbsp;<strong>alternate&nbsp;<\/strong>assignment, as needed?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If I am working with&nbsp;<strong>partner agencies<\/strong>, have I considered their needs and capacities when developing my course\u2019s CECE component? Have I talked with them on the phone or in person to ensure that all sides have been heard and that all questions have been answered? Have I been clear regarding&nbsp;<strong>expectations<\/strong>, including the required time commitment?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Am I collecting&nbsp;<strong>data&nbsp;<\/strong>about student growth and opinions by using <strong>the CECE<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Pre-<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>and&nbsp;Post-Surveys<\/strong>?
