The SEED Center<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A FREE initiative, originally developed by the American Association of Community Colleges<\/a>, the Sustainability Education, and Economic Development (SEED) Center is now run by the National Council for Workforce Education<\/a> and Bellevue College<\/a>. The SEED Center aims to advance sustainability and clean technology education programs at colleges by sharing innovative practices to help college administrators, faculty, and staff build the green economy. More than 470 community colleges are members of SEED, and more than 30 college presidents made up SEED\u2019s Presidents Advisory Cabinet<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Little Book of Green Nudges<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A quick guide to reducing your campus’ environmental impact through behavioural change in the form of a concise and user-friendly publication. It summarises the evidence around what nudges work best while seeking to encourage more sustainable practices among students and staff across several behavioural categories. It also provides simple guidance on how to implement and evaluate behavioural interventions in a variety of contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is nudging?<\/strong> When a university provides easy bicycle parking and repair stations, it nudges students to bike to campus. When a university makes plant-based food the default dish, it nudges students towards environment-friendly diets. These \u201cgreen nudges\u201d are positive and gentle persuasions to influence behaviours on campus and to instil environmental values that can last a lifetime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
