{"id":157,"date":"2011-05-02T05:09:41","date_gmt":"2011-05-02T05:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/?page_id=157"},"modified":"2026-04-20T01:40:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T08:40:50","slug":"eac","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/about-us\/committees\/eac\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainability Leadership Consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Formerly called the Bellevue College Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC), the Sustainability Leadership Consortium (SLC) was established in 2007 to advise campus constituencies regarding environmental and sustainable policies and programs on the BC campus. We strive to provide resources to the campus and community that allow us all to learn, work, live and play in a sustainable and healthy environment. Please feel free to contact the committee if you have any questions or comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sustainability Leadership Consortium provides a forum for identification and discussion of issues pertaining to sustainability. The Committee also assists in identifying strategies and resources for effectively advancing sustainability goals. The Committee provides oversight and advocacy for student and faculty led subcommittees and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tasks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Serve as an advisory board for President\u2019s Staff, the Office of Sustainability and any campus constituencies.<\/li><li>Review and recommend policies and procedures related to campus environmental impact, and environmental education<\/li><li>Review and make recommendations regarding the College\u2019s sustainability initiatives.<\/li><li>Provide leadership in response the campus sustainability issues and promote awareness<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sub-Committees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Environmental Advisory Committee includes two sub-committees with partially overlapping membership:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Environmental Sustainability Fund Committee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Environmental Sustainability Fund Committee&nbsp;recommends allocations of the revenues collected from the students environmental sustainability fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sustainability Curriculum Committee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sustainability Curriculum Committee leads initiatives to infuse sustainability throughout the curriculum.
