The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.bellevue.wa.us\/pedbikeplan.htm\">Pedestrian and Bicycle Transportation Plan<\/a>\u00a0articulates a shared vision of a desirable future that remains relevant today. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.bellevue.wa.us\/pedbike-initiative.htm\">Pedestrian &amp; Bicycle Implementation Initiative<\/a> (PBII) is a complement of action-oriented efforts that will advance project designs and programs identified in the Ped-Bike Plan to make Bellevue a great place to walk and bike.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Bellevue is looking for volunteers interested in supporting their Pedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative efforts.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative Journalist<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct interviews with local residents, friends, and family about walking and bicycling in Bellevue. Have them fill out a waiver. **<\/li>\n<li>Take pictures of your interviewees with walking and biking related messages, riding their bikes, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Record a sound clip of the interview, then transcribe it. **<\/li>\n<li>Save all files into one folder, and submit to the City of Bellevue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>**You can volunteer to interview, transcribe, or both! Please indicate in your submission which role\u00a0you would like to do.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative Auditor<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using the City of Bellevue Wikimap [<a href=\"http:\/\/wikimapping.com\/wikimap\/bellevuewa.html\">http:\/\/wikimapping.com\/wikimap\/bellevuewa.html<\/a>] for the PBII, audit currently marked unsafe conditions for walking and biking.<\/li>\n<li>Observe pedestrian and bicycle behaviors. Take notes on pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle interactions, how the issue can be improved, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Take pictures of the issues found.<\/li>\n<li>Upload to the Wikimap for the PBII for that currently marked condition. Add your notes in the comments section. Add any additional notes on how the issue can be improved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Pedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative Promoter<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Publicize the WikiMap survey by handing out flyers at transit centers and bus stops.<\/li>\n<li>Speak about the Pedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative and direct people to participate in the online survey.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage residents, family, and friends to use alternative transportation, walk, and bike around Bellevue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To volunteer for any of the above roles, send a brief email detailing which role you are interested in, your name, and contact information to McKayla Dunfey, Eastside Policy and Government Affairs Coordinator, <a href=\"mailto:mckaylad@cascade.org\">mckaylad@cascade.org<\/a>. Be sure to include in the subject line \u201cPedestrian and Bicycle Implementation Initiative Volunteer\u201d.
