{"id":2260,"date":"2012-05-07T10:06:58","date_gmt":"2012-05-07T17:06:58","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/?p=2260"},"modified":"2013-11-19T11:07:52","modified_gmt":"2013-11-19T19:07:52","slug":"new-neighborhood-plan-paints-vision-of-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/2012\/05\/07\/new-neighborhood-plan-paints-vision-of-2030\/","title":{"rendered":"New Study Paints Vision of Eastgate in 2030"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On\u00a0April 23, 2012 the Bellevue City Council\u00a0accepted the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.bellevue.wa.us\/eastgate-corridor.htm\">Eastgate\/I-90 Land Use and Transportation Study<\/a><\/strong><strong>.\u00a0 <\/strong>Using a planning horizon of Year 2030, the Citizens Advisory Council, which included\u00a0Bellevue College&#8217;s former VP of Administrative Services, Rachel Solemsaas, undertook a planning process that extended from November 2010 to April 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The plan outlines a bold vision for Bellevue College&#8217;s neighborhood including a Transit Oriented Development between our southern border and I-90 as depicted below (click to enlarge):<\/p>\n<p>Improvements called for in the plan include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New bus stops and a wider, covered sidewalk leading from the I-90 flyover stops to Main Campus going east and west (depicted below)<\/li>\n<li>Completion of the missing link in the Mountains to Sound Greenway and connection to Main Campus (map below)<\/li>\n<li>Bus route revisions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Eastgate\/I-90 Land Use and Transportation Project is a long-range vision that may take many years to realize and may change over time.\u00a0 Major steps include revisions to the City of Bellevue land-use and transportation plans and codes and identifying private investors and public resources for projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On\u00a0April 23, 2012 the Bellevue City Council\u00a0accepted the Eastgate\/I-90 Land Use and Transportation Study.\u00a0 Using a planning horizon of Year 2030, the Citizens Advisory Council, which included\u00a0Bellevue College's former VP of Administrative Services, Rachel Solemsaas, undertook a planning process that extended from November 2010 to April 2012.
