This fall quarter, <strong>real-time transit trackers<\/strong> are rolling out across campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/get-involved\/sesf\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"15538\">Student Environmental Sustainability Fund<\/a> and founded by student Nick Frey, the project brings live arrival information for King County Metro buses directly to students, faculty, and staff. Whether you\u2019re leaving class, grabbing food in the cafeteria, or heading home after a study session, you\u2019ll now know exactly when your bus is arriving. No more frantic sprints or long, uncertain waits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trackers are located at key spots across campus, including the <strong>L Building study area, U Building (Student Success Center), N Building, the Library<\/strong>, and <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Cafeteria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a student, I&#8217;ve always found the bus schedule to be overwhelming and mysterious,\u201d says Nick Frey. \u201cMy hope is that this brings clarity and simplicity to taking transit. For a lot of students, transit is their only way of getting to and from campus. For people with cars, the less you have to worry about navigating the bus, the easier it is to make the jump to a more sustainable transit option.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/sustainability\/sustainbc\/transportation\/transit-trackers\/\">Learn more about the trackers, and tools for riding the bus, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The devices are Wi-Fi enabled and stream departures from the OneBusAway API, and the outer enclosures were 3D printed by the MakerSpace.
