The ASG has been working hard to get the Metro bus route 240 stop at the doorstep of Bellevue College, the first direct connection to Renton and Newcastle with connections to south King County, but they need your help to make it possible.\u00a0 They invite you to\u00a0\u00a0call<\/span> or\u00a0 email<\/span> \u00a0councilmembers before Tuesday May 31st<\/sup> at 1:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear Councilmember,<\/p>\n

I\u2019m writing to support the amendment to the transit service ordinance that would make Route 240 stop at Eastgate Park & Ride.\u00a0 An estimated 13,000 individuals commute daily to Bellevue College, 23% from areas that could be served by the Route 240 if it stopped at Eastgate.\u00a0 More than 50% of these students are students of color.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Already 20% of students depend on transit to get to campus.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m asking for your support for this amendment to make transit a better option for the employees and students of Bellevue College and those in the surrounding communities, including areas east of Bellevue.\u00a0 The cost of this change is five minutes for some commuters, but would save Eastgate bound riders about a half hour.<\/p>\n
