The State Legislature and Governor Inslee are faced with tough choices on how to address our growing transportation needs and keep our roads and bridges in good condition.\u00a0 Should taxes be raised?\u00a0 Should services be reduced?\u00a0 What does this mean for you and your community?<\/p>\n
Decision makers want to know where Washington State citizens stand on transportation issues, and that\u2019s where you can help, by becoming a member of the Voice of Washington State (VOWS) survey panel.<\/p>\n
In the coming weeks, the Washington State Transportation Commission (WSTC) will be sending out an on-line survey to find out where you think our transportation dollars should be invested and how we should generate the funds to address the backlog of needs.\u00a0 The results of this survey will be reported directly to the Governor and Legislature to inform their discussions and decisions this winter.<\/p>\n
The VOWS survey panel already has 30,000 Washington State residents sharing their views on transportation.\u00a0 But the more participants, the better the data and the stronger the message is to our state\u2019s decision makers.\u00a0 So help us spread the word.\u00a0 If you know of any neighbors or friends who would like to share their opinions or concerns about how to fund and improve Washington State\u2019s transportation system \u2013 which includes our roads, public transit, ferry\u2019s, rail, airports, bike paths and sidewalks – please let them know about this opportunity.<\/p>\n

The VOWS survey program is Washington State government\u2019s new, online public input program designed to gather the views of our residents and harness their collective voice in helping shape the future of our transportation system.\u00a0 Short surveys are sent to VOWS members, allowing all residents an opportunity to share their thoughts on all things transportation.\u00a0 The VOWS program has been featured in the Seattle Times, Spokesman Review, Yakima Herald, and numerous local papers as a way for citizens to give direct input to the state leaders on the tough issues facing our state.<\/p>\n
