“Who Am I”
Paula Boggs fronts the “Seattle-Brewed Soulgrass” Paula Boggs Band, is a voting member of The Recording Academy (the Grammys) and owns Boggs Media, LLC. She is also a seasoned executive, lawyer, board member, public speaker, philanthropist and Army Airborne (paratrooper) veteran, who led the global law department of Starbucks Corp. for 10 years and was secretary of the Starbucks Foundation. Before Starbucks she was an executive for five years in the technology industry, a law firm partner, federal prosecutor, U.S. Army captain and one of our nation’s first women to receive an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.
Paula was appointed by President Obama to the President’s Committee for the Arts and the Humanities and White House Council for Community Solutions. She has served 20-plus years in the American Bar Association’s (ABA) House of Delegates, and is now also on its Board of Governors. After serving 18 years as a Johns Hopkins University Trustee, Boggs is now a Trustee Emerita. She is a veteran of both for-profit and non-profit boards and in addition to the ABA’s, Boggs serves currently on the boards of Avid Technology (NASDAQ) and public radio KEXP as secretary. Paula Boggs Band tours throughout the United States and Canada, released Live at Empty Sea, Songs of Protest & Hope in Jan. 2017 and releases its third studio album later this year.
