We have a variety of ways for you to obtain your English and math placement, and to take other tests online. We are committed to working with you to find a solution that meets your needs. The Placement and Testing Services Office provides access to a wide variety of tests needed by students, and the surrounding community. A chart of the tests offered and the cost is listed below.

Tests
ACCUPLACER for English
ALEKS for math
Purpose: Standardized tests used to place students into English and math classes.
Scheduling:
Tests are offered onlne and remotely. To ask to take the English or math placement test, use the button below.
Cost: A $32 placement fee is part of the general admission fee placed on all new student accounts at the time of admission. This fee allows students to take both the English and math placement tests once without an additional charage. Students are not billed for the fee, and pay it at the time tuition is paid. A $15 retest fee is charged for each additional attempt. Note: If more than one-year has passed since setting up your ALEKS account, you must pay a $20 setup fee, in addition to the $15 retest fee if applicable.
Chemistry Placement Exam
Purpose: For students who plan to take CHEM&161 but did not complete/take CHEM&140 with a C or better.

Cost: $15 (nonrefundable) per test
English Challenge Test
Purpose: For students wishing bypass English 101 and gain access to advanced composition courses such as ENGL& 235, 271, 201.
Scheduling:
Cost: $15 (nonrefundable) per test
Math Entrance Exams
Purpose: For students who wish to improve their ALEKS placement. Math Entrance Exams are based on the final exams given for certain math courses.
Scheduling:
Cost: $15 per test
ACCUPLACER Writeplacer
Purpose: The ACCUPLACER Writing Essay required to meet admission requirements for some programs.
Scheduling:
Cost: $20 per attempt
Retest options:
- One week wait for a retake of the Writeplacer for Nursing
- Six month wait period for second and each subsequent attempt.
TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills)
Purpose: Required for admission to the Associate Degree Nursing program. Before scheduling, create an account at www.atitesting.com.
Important Information on ATI TEAS EXAM WITH PROCTORIO
Cost: $105 per test
Retest options: No wait time, and no limit on retests. Students must pay the full $105 each time the test is taken. www.atitesting.com
GED (General Educational Development) Testing
Purpose: Includes a set of four subject tests that measures and certifies high school level academic skills.
Cost: See GED.com for cost information
Classroom exams for BC Students
Purpose: Used by BC students under the direction of their Instructors for classroom exams.
