Other Tests and Fees

The Testing Services Office provides access to a wide variety of tests needed by students, and the surrounding community. A chart of the tests offered and the cost is listed below. Tests

ACCUPLACER for English
ALEKS for math

Purpose: Standardized tests used to place students into English and math classes.

Scheduling:

  • No Appointment
  • Use Walk-in Hours
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: $21 – The Placement Fee is put on the account of new students at the time of admission, and paid at the time tuition is paid.


Chemistry Placement Exam

Purpose: For students who plan to take CHEM&161 but did not complete/take CHEM&140 with a C or better.

Scheduling:

  • No Appointment
  • Use Walk-in Hours
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: $21 – The Placement Fee is put on the account of new students at the time of admission, and paid at the time tuition is paid


Retest Options: ACCUPLACER, ALEKS, and Chemistry Exam

Purpose: For students who wish to retake one of the three initial placement tests to improve their score.

Scheduling:

  • No Appointment
  • Use Walk-in Hours
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: Free for second test. $15 for each test beyond first retake


English Challenge Test

Purpose: For students who wish to improve their ACCUPLACER placement.

Scheduling:

  • Email Placement & Testing Services to schedule test
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: Free if taken as a second placement attempt, or $15 retest fee


Math Entrance Exams

Purpose: For students who wish to improve their ALEKS placement. Math Entrance Exams are based on the final exams given for certain math courses.

Scheduling:

  • Email Placement & Testing Services to schedule test
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: Free if taken as a second placement attempt, or $15 retest fee


ACCUPLACER Writeplacer

Purpose: The ACCUPLACER Writing Essay required for the BC Nursing and the Neurodiagnostic Technologist (NDT) programs.

Scheduling:

  • No Appointment
  • Use Walk-in Hours
  • No Friday Testing

Cost: $21


TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills)

Purpose: Required for admission to the Associate Degree Nursing program.

Cost: $100


GED (General Educational Development) Testing

Purpose: Includes a set of four subject tests that measures and certifies high school level academic skills.

Scheduling: Set up and arranged through GED Testing Service.

Cost: $30 per subject


General Proctoring for BC Students

Purpose: Used by students for a variety of tests, including industry certifications, make-up exams, and other campus uses.

Purpose: Used by the public for a variety of tests, including industry certifications, and students taking classes at other universities or colleges.

Scheduling: Email Placement & Testing Services to schedule test

Cost: $21 per test (increase scheduled for winter 2018)
