A Medieval Media Empire is the setting of Bellevue College’s online musical production of Once Upon a Mattress, a classic musical retelling of “The Princess and the Pea.” Aggravain is the Talk Show Queen who has put her husband the King on “mute.” Once Upon a Mattress is a classic musical comedy with music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer. Directed by Tammis Doyle, Musically Directed by Aimee Hong and Choreographed by Laura Peterson.

SafeHouse is an original play written by BC students with director Tammis Doyle about women who flee dangerous conditions to seek a better life. Each character is alone yet must trust those she does not know on her journey to freedom and safety. Although comprised mostly of monologues the characters talk across time and space to give each other hope.

Adam is a comic book writer coasting on his past successes of the comic book Mynx and Savage. Much to his chagrin, his employer has assigned him a partner, Ket, to ensure he makes his next deadline. Ket is young and ambitious; her life was changed by Adam’s first serious graphic novel, about a Doll and her child.
