Each speaker is allotted up to two minutes. The Board does not respond to questions or comments during this time, as operational matters are delegated to the college president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public comments may be provided in one of three ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In-person<\/strong>: Sign up on the public comment sheet located at the entrance to the meeting room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remote<\/strong>: Use the &#8220;Raise Hand&#8221; feature in Zoom to indicate your intent to speak. Pradnya Desh, chair, presided. This meeting was held in B201 and on Zoom. A telephone line was also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair Desh called the business session to order at 9:03 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Roll Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A quorum of the Board was present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Present: Chair Pradnya Desh, Vice Chair Rich Fukutaki, Trustee Richard <a>Leigh<\/a>, Trustee Greg Dietzel, President David May, Assistant Attorney General Tricia Boerger (attended remotely 9:00 \u2013 9:30 AM), and Board Secretary Alicia Keating Polson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Absent: none.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 2 guests in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approval of Agenda<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Trustee Leigh made a motion to approve the agenda (January 21, 2026). Trustee Dietzel seconded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The motion passed unanimously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public Comment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no public comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Executive Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At 9:07 AM, Chair Desh announced the Board would convene for 15 minutes in executive session under <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/rcw\/default.aspx?cite=42.30.110\">RCW 42.30.110(1)<\/a> for the following purpose: (i) To discuss with legal counsel representing the agency litigation or potential litigation. Assistant Attorney General Tricia Boerger was present for the litigation-related discussion. Chair Desh announced that no final action would be taken during the executive session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The executive session ended at 9:22 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Business Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair Desh called the business session back to order at 9:25 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introduction of New Vice President<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sean Marsh, Vice President of Institutional Advancement introduced himself to the Board and shared his early priorities for his new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accreditation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Jess Clark, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs provided an update on accreditation, including an overview of what the Board should expect in the upcoming Year 7 site visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recess<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair Desh called for a 10-minute minute recess at 11:25 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Called back to order at 11:35 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">External Partnerships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. David May, President, provided a report on ongoing external partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adjournment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair Desh adjourned the Board of Trustees meeting for a 60-minute lunch break at 12:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Business Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair Desh called the business session back to order at 1:05 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Executive Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At 1:10 PM, Chair Desh announced the Board would convene for 15 minutes in executive session under <a href=\"https:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/rcw\/default.aspx?cite=42.30.110\">RCW 42.30.110(1)<\/a> for the following purpose: (g) To review the performance of a public employee.
