for the Opportunity Grant if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have been a Washington State resident for the past year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You do <strong>not<\/strong> already have a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are interested in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/we\/og\/approved-programs\/\">approved degree or certificate program<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are within the following income guidelines:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"mayflower-tablepress-wrap\"><h2 id=\"tablepress-8-name\" class=\"tablepress-table-name href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/08\/WE-Expectations-Fillable.pdf\">Workforce Education Student Expectations [PDF]<\/a>, Opportunity Grant students must also understand the following expectations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Report Changes in Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You must notify your Workforce Education advisor if there are changes in your household income or family size that might affect your eligibility. For example, contact your advisor if you or a household member find employment that puts your total household income above the eligibility guidelines. See the Who Qualifies? section above for a chart with income guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Progress Reports<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Workforce Education may request progress and participation reports from your instructors. You may even be able to get funding for classes you are currently attending. However, funding is always subject to availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I have to apply for Financial Aid?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes. To be considered for the Opportunity Grant, applicants must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">FAFSA<\/a> (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and show financial need according to Financial Aid guidelines. If you are not eligible to submit a FAFSA due to immigration status, you must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/wsac.wa.gov\/wasfa\">WASFA<\/a> (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do you determine income eligibility?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We check FAFSA\/WASFA information and require documentation of the previous month&#8217;s income. Examples of documentation include check stubs or verification of public assistance, unemployment insurance, or child support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I get funding from the Opportunity Grant while also receiving funding from other sources?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It depends on the other source of funding. Students can potentially receive the Opportunity Grant in addition to other financial aid. Talk with the Opportunity Grant program manager about how the grant fits in with other aid you are receiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can the Opportunity Grant cover prerequisite classes for an approved program of study?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It can pay for some prerequisite courses, but they would count toward the total 45-credit funding limit. The Opportunity Grant does NOT cover prerequisites in preparation to apply to a selective-admission medical program like Nursing, Diagnostic Ultrasound, or Radiologic Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can the Opportunity Grant cover transfer degrees?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No. The Opportunity Grant can only cover <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/we\/og\/approved-programs\/\">approved professional\/technical programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mayflower-blocks-panel card bg-info\"><h2 class=\"card-header\"> How do I apply?<\/h2><div class=\"card-body bg-light text-dark\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/we\/apply\/\"><strong>Apply online<\/strong><\/a>!
