The following procedures are established to assist in the registration process.
New and Former Students
New students are defined as those who have never previously enrolled in credit classes at Bellevue College. Former students are defined as those who have previously enrolled in credit classes but have not been enrolled for four or more consecutive quarters.
New and former students who submit admissions applications by the due dates published in the quarterly schedule are sent notices about registration procedures. Registration appointments are assigned according to the order in which the admissions applications are received.
A student who submits an application for admission after the due date may register on or after the date and time published in the quarterly schedule.
Continuing students are defined as those currently enrolled in credit classes or those who were enrolled during one of the preceding three academic quarters.
All continuing students receive registration information by email prior to the registration dates established in the college calendar.
Registration via the Internet is available for both continuing and new students. Students may also add or drop classes via the web until the deadline for registration.
Any student may register in person at the registration office on the day of or after his/her assigned access time. Students with special concerns such as a physical disability or limited English proficiency may request reasonable accommodations in the registration process.
Unrestricted class registration is permitted only during the first three business days of the quarter during the academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters).
Students who add or drop courses in person must complete and submit a schedule change form to the registration office. Students who add by the web may do so through the third day of the quarter (fall, winter and spring). Students who drop by the web may do so through the seventh week of the quarter (fall, winter and spring).
During the fourth through tenth business days of the quarter a student may add a class with the permission of the instructor or the division chairperson. Students are required to submit both a schedule change form and a permit to enroll card, with the required authorizing signatures, to the registration office.
After the tenth business day of the quarter, a student may add a class, if he or she exhibits a bona fide reason for adding a class after the tenth day. The student must obtain a permit to enroll after 10th-day form (Red card) from the appropriate division or unit office, obtain the authorizing signatures, and submit the form with a signed schedule change form in the registration office.
The college may charge an administrative fee for adding and dropping classes.
Note: During the Summer Quarter the registration schedule is different. Students are encouraged to consult the quarterly schedule for calendar information.
The registration schedule is published each quarter in the quarterly schedule.
Registration for Continuing Education Classes
Registrations for continuing education (non-credit) classes are accepted at any time after the quarterly schedule is printed and distributed. Students may register for continuing education classes in person, through the mail, or via fax or telephone (for students who will pay with a credit card).
