Theresa is a 1.5 generation Korean American who was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She grew interested in the learning and development of children and youth through her B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Emory University and her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Washington, College of Education. As a doctoral student, her research interest is centered around how gender identity and ethnic identity are constructed, tested, and shaped through the multiple spaces that Asian Americans are a part of.
