GEOL 103: Evolution of The Earth – 6 credits

Surveys the geologic history of the earth, including the history of life on earth. Students learn to interpret rock and fossil evidence. The course is designed for non-majors includes laboratory work. Fulfills laboratory science course requirement at BC. Fee: $48.00 100-level Science lab. College in the High School students and students in on-line classes are exempt from this fee.

GEOL 106: Introduction to Natural Hazards & Disasters – 5 credits

Primary focus is on earth and atmospheric hazards that appear rapidly, often without warning. Emphasis placed on the interrelationship among hazards and the role Humans play in, not only enhancing potential disasters, but also how, through education, to minimize future environmental problems. Same as GEOG 106. Either GEOL 106 or GEOG 106 may be taken for credit, not both. Fulfills a natural science course requirement at BC.
