I joined as a Peer Educator because I want to be an influential member that has the power to produce a positive effect within Bellevue College. Being an influential member means, that I need to improve the quality of life for students by developing, managing and facilitating opportunities and resources that enable students to grow and progress within and outside of the academic system.

An influential member must listen to student needs and actively search for obstacles, intent to provide solutions that alleviate challenges that students face within a myriad of complexities that include but are not limited to, lack of diversity within leadership positions, financial challenges, lack of communication from current student leadership, and variables that lead to low retention.

My goal as a Peer Educator is to be an influential factor through bridging communication and elucidating various resources that Bellevue College offers. I want to see more students including minorities applying for leadership positions because I know that students can directly shape the environment in which they learn.
