About María

María teaches XR Development & Client Collaboration (DMA 295) at Bellevue College and helps students and faculty explore and build immersive experiences in the XR Lab. She specializes in various XR tools and technologies and creates Open Educational Resources to make XR more accessible.

Originally from Colombia, María first studied video production before transitioning to Interaction Design, where she discovered her passion for XR. She joined the XR Lab in 2022 and is excited to be back to share her knowledge and support students.

María loves how XR transforms spectators into active participants, adding a new level of immersion and making messages more impactful.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active by playing ultimate frisbee, hiking in the mountains, and experiencing live music.
