My name is Sebastian Mayer, and I am a temporary full-time faculty member in Political Science at Bellevue College. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Washington. I further hold a B.A. in American Studies from Heidelberg University and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington. I have converted my passions for sports and politics into a career in academia, studying the interrelation of sports, politics, and race. My research and teaching interests revolve around American politics and political behavior, with a special focus on race & ethnicity politics, as well as the intersection of sports & politics. Outside of academia, I enjoy playing, coaching, and watching sports, travelling, going to concerts, and being a girl dad.
