8% Energy Savings + $21,000 Performance Bonus

Bellevue College was awarded a $21,000 performance incentive as part of the PSE Resource Conservation Management program.  Energy consumption decreased 8% or 6,188,099 KBtu from July 2011 to June 2012 at Main Campus for a total avoided cost of $76, 250.  The calculations are adjusted for weather through Utility Manager software.

Bellevue College saw the greatest savings in natural gas, with 14.9% fewer therms burned on campus from the prior fiscal year.  Savings may be attributed to scheduling adjustments, both in spaces and in minimizing operating of heating ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVAC), maintenance, awareness behavioral change,  and programs light the light bulb exchange conducted by students last winter.

This is the second year and second incentive Bellevue College has received from PSE in the three year grant program.
