I-405 Express Toll Lanes between Bellevue and Lynnwood

This Fall, many students commutes will be affected by changes in WSDOT new I-405 express toll lanes program.

How do express toll lanes work?

Electronic signs post the toll rate based on destination and automatically adjust depending on traffic congestion. You pay the rate you see upon entering the express toll lanes. As more vehicles enter or exit the lanes, the dynamic toll rates adjust so that traffic moves at least 45 miles per hour in the express toll lane.

Changes for Carpoolers

To ride toll-free in the in the I-405 express toll lanes, carpools will need to have:

-Three occupants during weekday peak hours (5-9 am and 3-7 pm)

-Two occupants mid-day, evenings and weekends

-An active Good to Go! account

-A Good to Go! Flex Pass set to HOV mode

You must have a Good To Go! account and Flex Pass must be set to HOV mode to travel free. If you carpool once a week with two or more people and work or live in King or Snohomish counties, you may qualify for a free Flex Pass.
