Get outside with these unique behind-the-scenes events that highlight the rich history, ecology, and recreational opportunities within the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area. ⁠While focusing on several events there are things happening all the time consistently so be sure to check them out on their website!

  • Rock in the Lifecycle (7/13)⁠: Hike up exposed sandstone slopes to Cheese Rock while learning about how the sandstone formed.⁠
  • Busy Beavers Guided Hike with Beavers Northwest (7/18)⁠: Discover the secret world (and work) of beavers living throughout the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area. Join the Greenway Trust and beaver experts from @BeaversNW on a sunset tour of Tibbets Creek.⁠
  • Trail Talk: Managing Recreation Impacts in a Booming Metro Area (7/20)⁠: Get an insiders’ look at both the joys and challenges of managing public lands and popular recreation trails in such a booming area. Your hike leaders will dig into important topics such accessibility, equitable access, overcrowding, maintenance challenges, and more.⁠
  • Middle Fork Snoqualmie History Hike (7/26)⁠: Hike up the Garfield Ledges Trail while learning how the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Valley has transformed over the past century. We’ll journey through time by exploring the impacts of industries like logging, mining, and railroads while getting expansive views of the river valley.
