
About Earth Month 2026
Bellevue College’s Earth Month 2026 programming is coming soon! This year’s theme is Transforming Lives: Our Power, Our Planet. The Sustainability Office will be featuring events throughout the month of April that connect our community with action that supports the health and vibrancy of our planet. Get your hands dirty at a habitat restoration event, join an informative talk or film screening, enjoy a CSA produce box, or stroll through the Earth Market to connect with local, sustainable organizations. The full schedule is coming soon.
All events are open to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Snacks and prize drawings will be at every speaker session and workshop.
Earth Month events are on Bellevue College’s campus at 3000 Landerholm Circle SE Bellevue WA, 98007. View the campus map with parking, as well as room locations.

Donate Your Clothing and Items!
The Sustainability Office is currently gathering items from March 23rd – April 20th for our Zero Waste Fair, April 22nd, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the C Courtyard, where anyone can come by and thrift for free.
When making donations please be sure they are clean, in good condition and small personal items; no food, weapons, furniture, hazardous, illegal, or state-owned items.
There will be donation boxes set up in the L Building Lobby, C Building Lobby, Library (D Building), and The Benefits Hub (U Building).
Earth Market
Join our annual Earth Month market to connect with local organizations working in sustainability, and purchase locally crafted goods! The event is on April 29th 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM in the C Courtyard (depending on weather).

| E-waste Collection Bin (Drop off) | Donate any personal electronics that are broken, old, or items you just don’t want anymore! Local company PCs for People Seattle will recycle your old electronics in an environmentally friendly manner, while ensuring any data on the device is securely removed or destroyed. Refurbished technology then gets donated to those in need. | Tree Giveaway | Register using your BC email to reserve your FREE tree from local non-profit 300 Trees here. Trees are available for BC students, staff, and faculty to take home and are meant to be planted outside to add to the Urban Tree Canopy. All trees are in 1-gallon pots and there is a variety to choose from: – Serviceberry – Shore pine – Garry oak – Cascara – Crabapple – Grand fir One tree per person please! | Sustainability Film Fest: Fashion Reimagined, Earth’s Greatest Enemy | Grab some free popcorn and enjoy some sustainability focused films. In Fashion Reimagined, Trailblazing fashion designer Amy Powney is on a mission to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment and transform the way we engage with fashion. Washington State has set reduction targets leading to Net Zero in 2050. The Bellevue College 2024 Climate Action Plan is one of the roadmaps to get there. | Group 14 Battery Talk with Dr. Rick Constantino | Presentation by Dr. Rick Constantino, CTO and Co-Founder, Group 14 Technologies Rick has more than 30 years of experience developing stable, high-performance products at the molecular level, spanning chemical and biopharmaceutical industries for companies such as Genentech, Alkermes, and Nastech, culminating in numerous commercial products, from marketed therapeutics to electrode materials for advanced ultracapacitors and lead acid batteries. Rick holds more than 60 U.S. patents and has more than 50 publications. Rick holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from M.I.T. and a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. | Zero Waste Fair | Clothing Swap – Come thrift a variety of clothing for free! Interested in donating clothes beforehand for the swap? | EcoPoetry Workshop: The Peace of Wild Things with Fernando Pérez and Natalie Martínez | In this one-hour workshop, we’ll slow down and turn our attention to the living world through poetry. Beginning with Wendell Berry’s “The Peace of Wild Things” and Mary Oliver’s “When I Am Among the Trees,” we’ll reflect on the images that resonate and use them as a doorway into our own writing. Through guided prompts, participants will draft a poem rooted in observation and experience. We’ll end with an optional sharing, creating space for connection, creativity, and reflection.
