Rules and User Agreement

This platform must only be used to give, ask, borrow, lend, and share items. Please ensure that posts are on the proper channel (either state-owned items or personal items) and that items received are used appropriately according to how they were purchased originally. Items that were purchased with state/college money can only be given to and used by other departments and programs for college business. The person posting the item and the person receiving the item will be responsible and liable for any mishandling of state resources.

All exchanges should happen on campus in a public setting. Bellevue College (BC) is not liable for anything that occurs during these exchanges. There is no buying, selling, advertising, or marketing of goods or services allowed on this platform. All items must be lawful; no exchanges of drugs, alcohol, animals, hazardous materials or illegal items. Posts doing so will be immediately deleted, and the user will be removed from the Teams group.

There is no additional on-campus storage available for your items; the warehouse is not available for this use. Any equipment purchased through the Bellevue College ITS Department should not be exchanged on this platform. Please contact ITS directly to surplus items purchased through their department.

As with everything at Bellevue College, students must follow the College’s Student Code of Conduct (WAC 132H-126) and BC’s Hazing Policy (BC Policy 2100 Hazing). There will be no tolerance of hate speech and/or harassment in accordance with policy 1440 Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation for all students, faculty, and staff. Any posts disregarding the above will be immediately deleted with the user removed from the Teams group and reported to the Title IX Office and Human Resources/Student Conduct.

Know the Difference

State-owned Items

Use this channel to give, ask, borrow, lend, and share items that were purchased with state money. State money is anything purchased with an office/department budget number. Items posted here can only be used by offices and departments for official BC purposes.

Personal Items

Use this channel to give, ask, borrow, lend, and share items that were NOT purchased with state money. This includes items from home or items purchased with student fee money or other non-state sources. Items posted here can be used for personal or official BC purposes.

Helpful Tips:

  • If there’s high interest in an item, use a random winner generator. It’s also an equitable way to choose a recipient. Another method is selecting the first person that responds.
  • Directly message the selected person to coordinate pickup of the item. Include your preferred pick-up time windows, and if the offer has an expiration date.
  • Items can also be loaned/borrowed. It’s the same process as offering or asking for an item. Make sure to set parameters for how long the item can be borrowed for.
