Welcome to the Reading Lab!

The Reading Lab offers specialized tutoring support in English language comprehension and acquisition. Stop by for individual or group support to strengthen your reading and speaking skills and gain confidence in your language use!

Other services include digital literacy for institutional platforms like Canvas, and quiet spaces to read, study, or practice your speaking skills.

ASC Reading Lab & BC Library present: Stacey Levine

What better way to take a break on a spring morning than to sip coffee, nibble on pastries, and listen to a story? Hear local author Stacey Levine read her fiction at our low carbon edition of Prose and Pastries!

Stacey is the author of “Mice 1961,” which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2025. She also wrote the fictions “The Girl with Brown Fur,” “Frances Johnson, Dra -” and “My Horse and Other Stories.” Her work has received a PEN USA fiction award, a Stranger Genius Literature Award, a Seattle Artist Trust fellowship, and two Washington State Book Award nominations.

Mondays, 11:30 AM – 3 PM (5/4 shift ends at 1:30 PM)
Tuesdays, 10 AM – 2 PM (this shift is subject to change)
Wednesdays, 11:30 AM – 3 PM
Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 3 PM

1-on-1 Reading Practice

Practice reading with a tutor to build fluency, improve pronunciation, and strengthen your comfort and confidence with reading English. Please bring your own reading material.

English Conversation Partner

Meet with a Reading Lab “conversation partner” and use Reading Lab materials to practice your speaking and listening.

Digital Literacy Coaching

Need help navigating all the digital platforms used at BC? Come visit during open hours for Canvas, Microsoft Office, and ctcLink Support!
