Career Support

Students can participate in a variety of professional development activities throughout their time in the program.
- Senior capstone projects (a requirement for all BSCS students) allow students to apply their technical knowledge to solve real-world engineering problems by taking a project through the full development cycle. These projects can also help students strengthen skills in project management, collaborative software development, version control, and team workflows – providing practical experience to demonstrate their abilities to future employers.
- Hackathons and open-source micro-internship opportunities allow students to gain additional experience in working in teams, problem solving, and apply their technical skills.
- Mock interviews allow students to practice articulating their skills, showcasing accomplishments, and demonstrating problem-solving abilities. Conducted in a simulated (mock) professional environment, they help students prepare for future job interviews.
- Industry mentorships allow students to network with experienced professionals, ask questions, learn from their experiences, and gain insight into navigating the professional world.
- Tech-focused workshops, talks, and conferences allow students to expand their knowledge, learn about emerging trends, and build their professional network.
- Regular one-on-one advising meetings with faculty allow students to receive guidance and support for their professional growth. Faculty Advisors can help students refine goals, reflect on progress, and get connected to valuable resources.
