Meet a Current CS Student

Ellis, Leader of the CS Student Advisory Board

What is your role on the CS Student Advisory Board?

“I am the leader of the CS Student Advisory Board! I am one of the primary points of contact between the students and the faculty. I also work with the other students on the advisory board to plan events for fellow CS students ranging from social events to events to help everyone learn more about computer science. If there are any questions, concerns, or ideas for events, I’m the one to talk to!”

What projects and tasks does the CS Student Advisory Board work on?

“We work directly with the faculty to provide information about what we see in the program as students. This contact with faculty is an incredible opportunity. I believe that closer collaboration with our teachers helps us learn better. We also attend important program meetings such as industry meetings, providing an invaluable networking opportunity.”

What is your favorite thing about the other students that you’ve met in the CS program?

“There are so many brilliant people in our program with interesting ideas and experiences. It is truly a pleasure working with my fellow students in the program and hearing about the wild projects they are working on and the weird programs people have made.”
