Biography:

Joe Hueffed has worked in various technology roles such as application developer, functional analyst and project manager. He has experience working at several organizations including Starbucks, Nordstrom, Amazon, Microsoft, T-Mobile, Kaiser-Permanente and UW Medicine. Joe graduated from Seattle Prep / Matteo Ricci College (similar to Running Start) and has a BA in Humanities, a BA in Economics, and an MBA with an Information Systems focus from Seattle University; Go Redhawks! He has also completed several programming certificates from the UW School of Continuing Education. Joe has taught courses in Java, C# and Python programming, and technical project management, at Seattle Central College, Renton Technical College, and at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) for St Martin’s University. He has also volunteer taught computer science in the TEALS program in Seattle. Joe currently teaches Java programming at Bellevue College. He often incorporates elements of information technology, and project management / software development life cycle (SDLC) principles and methodology into his courses, to relate the conceptual programming concepts to real world information technology and business practices. Joe grew up in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle, and now lives in Bellevue with his wife and four children. He enjoys outdoor sports and activities such as boating and hiking, and often contributes to his children sports activities, such as umpiring baseball games.
