From the Chamber: Long Distancing

Welcome to From the Chamber virtual concert. We are glad you have joined us for this program. The program for this virtual concert is a response to the restrictions that have been caused by the pandemic. Performers in this program have recorded themselves inside their homes or outside in nature. Although we are physically apart from each other and can’t share this program in person, we hope that the music and sound that we are sharing will reach and move you.

ABOUT US

My name is Ella Kalinichenko and I am a classical pianist. I will be graduating this Spring from Bellevue College with an AA in Music. With that, I am transferring to another University to pursue my bachelor’s degree in piano performance. Along the side of learning and performing, I also have a studio where I teach piano. My goal is to share my love for classical piano to as many people as I can. This wonderful four hand version was transcribed by Khatia Buniatishvili. I took this arrangement and recorded myself playing both the secondo and primo parts. I hope you enjoy this libertango by Astor Piazzolla!

Hello, all! My name is Isabel Madewell, and I’m finishing up my senior year of high school as a Running Start student at Bellevue College. I’ll be graduating with my AA, and going to the University of Washington in the fall. I hope to get into the Husky Marching band on piccolo, and will most likely be a part of that for the 4+ years at UW. My undergraduate degree will be in Russian, after which I plan to go into Physical Therapy school.

My name is Karena Qian and I am in my first year as a BC Running Start student. As a classically trained pianist and violinist, I have participated in several music programs over the years, including SYSO, SYAMF, and PAFE. After I finish my AA in Arts and Science next year, I plan to transfer to a 4-year college to continue my musical studies, where I hope to get a major in violin performance. One of my greatest goals is to encourage and inspire people with my music (and perhaps participate in an early music ensemble as well).

My name is Maximiliaan van Ginneken and I’m a modern guitarist. I’m aspiring to be a composer and a performer capable of exploiting modern technology. This piece, Petals of Iron, is a partial improvisation written by me. In it, I explore a variety of melodic approaches, modern effects, and feedback.

My name is Evelyn Madewell, and this has been my first year at Bellevue College. Music is an important part of my life, as I play the French Horn with the Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra and am also a dancer with the Ensemble Ballet Theatre. I am a Running Start student, and I am planning on attending UW Engineering after high school.

Hi, I’m Emily, a second-year Running Start student at Bellevue College. My main musical focus is classical piano. I will be graduating in Fall 2020 and will attend University of Washington. My goal is to major in music education.

Hello! My name is Sheyenne Leonard, and I am finishing my first year at Bellevue College. I am a running start student earning an AA in Arts and Science along with a high school diploma. I am currently taking a six-course sequence music theory class at BC which has helped me learn so much about music. I play guitar, and I am also beginning to learn piano. In my future, I do not have a specific plan for what I will do with music, but I hope to continue performing and learning more about music.
