Bellevue College’s sparkling new energy meters are in and the Building Dashboard is now online and available to the BC Community!
BC now has a reliable building energy meter in every campus building and the solar array that reports in near real-time measure how much electricity and gas is being consumed (or generated); and it also shows the weather. Prior to this project, energy data was only available in large chunks, a single electricity meter for most of main campus, and gas meters for groups of buildings together.
Now campus operations, the sustainability office and the whole college community can see how much energy each individual building is consuming. This will help identify issues and energy conservation opportunities, demonstrate the impact of conservation measures, and provide any faculty or student the opportunity to use real campus energy data for a lesson or assignment.
