Bellevue College Joins Launch of $1 Billion ‘Green Challenge’

PITTSBURGH, PA (Oct. 11, 2011)-- Bellevue College joined with 32 other leading institutions, including Stanford, Harvard, Arizona State, to launch the Billion Dollar Green Challenge. The goal is to invest a cumulative total of one billion dollars in self-managed green revolving funds that finance energy efficiency upgrades on campus. Energy Conservation: We are in the middle of a major campus-wide audit of lighting, water and HVAC systems. Waste: Fall quarter we launched composting in the cafeteria with new compostable food service materials.
